The title of this post was inspired by the Christmas song ‘Santa Baby’. I don’t know why, but it’s been on repeat in my head (😁)

It was a really exciting experience for me to attend Lagos Fashion Week Autumn/Winter Presentation 2018. Being a creator and curator definitely forced me to emerge from my comfort zone and explore more facets of the field I believe I am slowly, but surely becoming entrenched in. I opted not to attend on Friday, so I could rest from the week and recharge for the weekend.

My look for Day 2 was inspired by the excitement and the fun I anticipated from Lagos Fashion Week and I decided on a playful, vibrant and fashionably casual look. I chose to pair my ankara print palazzo pants with a bright yellow off-the-shoulder crop top and accessorised with a sky-blue head-wrap and funky jewellery.

Tip: the key to wearing a crop top if you’re not comfortable with exposing your midriff is to wear it with something high-waisted.

Yellow was definitely a favourite this Lagos Fashion Week and ‘ofi’ was the favourite choice of fabric. ‘Ofi’ stands out on one hand, and seamlessly blends with different fabrics on the other, to create  versatile looks.

The designer RE, used ‘ofi’ in bright pastel colours, which are very ‘right now’ and very spring friendly (though it was an Autumn/Winter presentation) and it was really beautiful and very wearable. It made me wonder ‘is ‘ofi’ the new ankara?’

It was really fun to attend the show with my older sister (my little sister was busy at work 😛). We got to chat during the breaks and comment on pieces during the show. Also, we had a few photoshoot sessions and took way more pictures than necessary during different breaks, which was very cool.

For my blog, I was very lucky that @famous_isaacs asked to take my pictures, and I was able to isolate him for a while for a personal photoshoot. And I must confess, I’m so glad we had the shoot on the day. There is something to be said about photographs taken in the moment you’re experiencing a collection of emotions in certain events .

STYLE TEMPE definitely brought the usual drama to their pieces, pairing them with rich and vibrant colours.

ORANGE CULTURE drew in the most crowd, whether because it was the last show of the day, or the Davido connection. Either way, they definitely didn’t disappoint. Their show had a Wakanda-esque vibe and it was styled differently, with models sitting as part of the presentation.

This orange bag belongs to my mum, but I have claimed it and have been wearing it repeatedly. It’s fun, bright and the shape adds an edginess to any outfit. I opted to wear flats because I wasn’t sure how the event would unfold and l definitely wanted to be prepared for anything.

lt goes without saying that you should plan your outfits ahead of time. It is a fashion event, therefore be fashionable. Simple as that! Stay true to yourself, but make sure it is your fashionable self. If you have to, style your outfits exactly the way you want them to look, before the day of the show.

Thank you all for your support and accompanying me on this journey so far. You have truly been a huge inspiration to me.
