PUSSY BOW

Parisian fashion is characterised by chic, sophisticated and effortless pieces. One of its ‘piece de resistance’ is the pussy bow blouse. It came into creation originally as a gender bending piece that still incorporated femininity and softness. In essence, the pussy bow is a bow-tie, albeit a feminine bow-tie. Designers like Coco Chanel and Yves Saint Laurent have featured it in their designs as far back as the 1960’s.

A pussy-bow in its simplicity elevates a look. It is ultra pretty, super feminine and can be styled in many ways. It is what I term a ‘classic trend’; a piece that is ‘on-trend’ in one season but not ‘in’ the next few, never really goes out of style, then becomes recycled into being ‘on trend’ again for another season.

This is a versatile look that flows from work to drinks, to any dressy-casual event you may need to attend. I’ve blogged about transitioning a look from work to an event, and same rules apply (See BLACK PANT(ER)).

I complemented the blouse with a pair of pants that actually look like jeans, but dressed up the overall look with my accessories.

I decided to pack up my hair to avoid covering the details of the blouse.
