HOW TO STYLE: PALAZZO PANTS

I really love this pair of palazzo pants (trousers), especially because of its really cool leather-look vibe, even though it’s actually guinea fabric. Also, the fact that it lengthens my silhouette by giving an illusion of height is an extra bonus. With or without heels, lengthening pants make you look elongated and chic. This post is the next installment in my series of reposting deleted blog posts.

The key to nailing this look is to make the pants (trousers) the key piece, and style everything else around it, so I chose to pair it with a basic black tank.  To accentuate my waist, I tied my tank which has the added effect of making my top slightly cropped while accentuating my waist.

To stick to a more chic and cool look, I added funky accessories; a chunky gold necklace, huge bangles and ankara purse – which has the perfect dash of ankara on it to keep with the overall aesthetic I was going for. And I added my trusted black and beige Mary Jane platforms to complete the look.

This look is still one of my favourite go-to’s with these pants/trousers – wearing a simple top/blouse to balance the large silhouette of the palazzo pants. However, I’ve tried it with shirts and they really works well together, so I go with that version for a more corporate look.

Wearing this kind of outfit definitely transforms how you carry yourself. The confidence required to pull it off will make you automatically walk taller and straighter with poise and self-assurance and will convince people that you have everything together (whether or not you actually do- shhh!!!).

It’s definitely a look to try to help you jumpstart a post-lockdown life!!!
