Red has always been one of my favourite colours to wear because it’s bright, bold and beautiful (insert swollen head ‘cos these perfectly describe me too, lol 😊). Anyhue, I really love wearing red because it complements my skin in the most attractive way.
Red is definitely a must-have colour in every girl’s wardrobe. The vibrant shade helps you stand out from the crowd with minimal or no effort at all. Better still if it’s a versatile piece like this crop – it packs a punch as street wear and can be styled as a beach cover-up, date wear, casual wear and even for work (especially paired with a shirt). I absolutely love that it’s cute, flirty and chic which is why it’s a perfect piece to add to any wardrobe.
For those are shy about wearing such a bold colour, toning it down is the way to go. This way, it still stands out, but doesn’t overwhelm you. I styled mine with my jersey skirt turned black tube dress and I also used a different colour of lipstick (purple), instead of the obvious red to help to tone it down.
I lightly slipped into the athleisure trend by pairing it with comfy and stylish sneakers. Fun-fact about these sneakers – they are probably my most worn shoes, but I just realised that I haven’t posted them before, probably because I usually style them with my off-duty looks.
To finish off, I accessorized with layered gold chains, multiple rings, my hat, of course (my hair has definitely been wild during this corona virus pandemic) and this adorable nude purse (courtesy of my younger sister). I love my combination of accessories as they give my look a slightly bohemian edge, which keeps the look fun, funky and fresh.
Hope this helps if you want to try something new and ‘Rule in Red!!!
